PM Encourages Land Disputes to Be Resolved out of court

Phnom Penh: PM Hun Sen encourages provincial governors to resolve disputes out of court, especially land disputes at the local level, to strengthen land security, and social well-being, create favourable conditions for local socio-economic development and accelerate poverty reduction.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction's meeting on the afternoon of December 27, 2022, Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that the land dispute reflected Cambodia's peaceful state. Many people are looking for land to settle down, and government officials and the rich are also seeking land for expansion and development, which caused land disputes.

"Because of peace, there have been developments; the land conflict has also occurred, although it is not new," he said.
